The term “Cloud Computing” was first introduced by Mr. Eric Schmidt, Google CEO, at SES 2006, and simply refers to the linkage of computers to provide boundary-less services over the Internet. Gartner defines Cloud Computing as “a style of computing where massively scalable and elastic IT-related capabilities are provided as a service to external customers using internet technologies.”  Thanks to the emergence of cloud computing, the traditional desktop-based work approach has evolved into a web-based ecosystem in which users can retrieve and share information over the Internet freely and easily.


KVM (Keyboard, Video/monitor and Mouse) computing is becoming more popular across the enterprise, banking, retail, and entertainment spectrum. With KVM, organizations can save significant amounts in computer hardware (desktop PC and notebook PC), IT management, and software system expenses. At the same time, KVM can also provide organizations with good control in information security, helping prevent information leaks and other breaches. Data Center

The data center houses a complex assortment of computer systems and associated components such as servers, data-communication and telecommunication equipment, and storage systems. The boom in data centers coincided with advent of the dot-com era as companies required fast internet connectivity and nonstop operations to deploy systems and establish a presence on the Internet. Since then, large scale data centers have sprung up to provide Cloud-based computing services and satisfy needs in business continuity and information security. A data center must maintain high standards for assuring the integrity and functionality of its hosted computer environment. This is now accomplished through redundancy of both optical and copper cables and power, which includes emergency backup power generation.

The accreditation group TIA (Telecommunications Industry Association) specifies the requirements for data centers. Under these requirements, data centers must meet the following criteria:

  • High data rate to support at least 10 Gbp/s communications, with capability for future expansion and upgrading of data rates;
  • Stable and reliable systems capable of delivering service 365 days per year, 24 hours per day;
  • High equipment density and highly efficient thermal dissipation functionality;
  • ase of scaling and maintenance.
